    Tim Terrio is the Founder and President of TERRIO Physical Therapy-Fitness, Inc. As a Physical Therapist, Certified Athletic Trainer and Certified Strength Coach for over 20 years, Terrio has personally assisted thousands of clients to recover function after injury or surgery and has earned a reputation for solving complex problems with innovative solutions.     Alisa Suburu, PT, DPT, OCS received her Masters of Physical Therapy degree in 1998 from the Mt Saint Mary's College. Alisa has over 15 years of experience in outpatient orthopedics and has been working in aquatics for the last 4 years. Most recently Alisa completed her transitional Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree through Evidence in Motion. Alisa is also a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist (OCS) since 2011.

    Dale Green, PT, DPT, OCS received his Bachelors of Science in Physical Therapy in 1993 from California State University, Long Beach. Dale has worked 7 years in Neurological Rehabilitation and 14 years in Outpatient Orthopedics. In 2014 Dale completed his transitional Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree through Evidence in Motion. Dale is also a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist (OCS) since 2011.

    Mitchell Wright, PT, DPT, received his Masters in Physical Therapy degree from Cal State Northridge in 2012 and completed his transitional Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree through Evidence in Motion in 2015. Mitch has been practicing physical therapy for 3 years, treating a variety of diagnosis ranging from orthopedics, post-operative, sports related injuries, neurological disorders, balance/gait disorders, and vestibular conditions. Mitch uses a multimodal approach based on best evidence with a large focus on manual therapy and therapeutic exercise.

  • Ilenia Perez Figarden Clinical Manager

    Ilenia Perez, PT, DPT, graduated from Long Beach State with a Masters in Physical Therapy in 2007. Ilenia is a bilingual native Spanish speaker and enjoys practicing various styles of Yoga which she likes to incorporate into her PT practice. Ilenia gained inspiration to become a physical therapist through observing her mother's experience recovering from multiple strokes, total knee replacements, and cervical and lumbar fusions. In 2015 Ilenia completed her transitional Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree through Evidence in Motion.

"In 14 years of clinical practice, I've had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of clients, providing me a great background with which to approach and address the many different challenges that patients present. But most of all, I love addressing sports injuries, from the youth athlete to the weekend warrior or even the workout fiend looking to recover."

    Bryce Sheffield, PT, DPT, received his Entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in Provo, UT. "I pride myself in being up to date on the latest research and techniques pertaining to physical therapy and enjoy applying these to my patients to help them achieve their highest potential. My goal is to get my patients back to doing what they like to do so they can enjoy life."

    Born and raised in Delano, CA. I received my Bachelors degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science in 2009 from CSU Northridge. Then I received my Masters degree in Physical Therapy in 2013 from CSU Northridge. I'm currently in the process of completing the transitional Doctorate of Physical Therapy program through Evidence in Motion.

  • Andris Veiss Delano Clinical Manager

    Andris L. Veiss PT, DPT received his Masters of Physical Therapy degree in 2001 from Cal St. Northridge, then his Doctorate degree in 2008 Western Univ of Health Science in Pomona. Andy has over 14 years of experience in mostly out-patient orthopedics. He also has a great deal of experience working with a vast array of various non-orthopedic issues such as dizziness and other neurological issues. Andy is practicing at out Edge location and is originally from McFarland (and yes, he did run cross-country for Mr. White like in the Disney movie!).

  • Dawn Waterhouse Aquatic Center Clinical Manager

    Dawn Waterhouse MPT, received her Masters of Physical Therapy from Northern Arizona Unversity in 1992. She has worked in IP/OP rehab for over 20 years and joined TERRIO to open our first rehab clinic specializing in stroke, SCI, TBI, amputee, parkinsons, MS and general rehab patients. She is Neuro-IFRAH certified to treat Adults with hemiplegia from stroke/BI.

  • Richard Zabala Oswell Clinical Manager

    Keith Richard Zabala, PT, DPT, OCS received his Bachelors of Science degree in Physical Therapy in 2000 from Emilio Aguinaldo College in Manila, Philippines. He recently completed his Transitional Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy through Evidence in Motion. He is also a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist. "I have worked in different rehabilitation settings such as outpatient orthopedic, acute, skilled nursing and home health which makes me well-rounded on the conditions I am comfortable to treat and handle."

  • Jennifer Angelo Physical Therapist

    Jennifer Angelo, PT, DPT, OCS received her Masters of Physical Therapy degree in 2008 from California State University, Long Beach. Jennifer completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree through Evidence in Motion in 2011. She graduated from her orthopedic residency from Evidence in Motion and became board certified in orthopedics in 2012. Jennifer is currently pursuing fellowship training in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy through Evidence in Motion.

    Alison Barry, PT, DPT received her Masters of Physical Therapy degree in 2010 from California State University Northridge and her Doctor of Physical Therapy through Evidence in Motion in August of 2016. She began her PT career in the Air Force as a Physical Therapy technician and after serving 7.5 years went to PT school.

  • Jan Castilan Physical Therapist

    Jan Ellen Castilan, PT received her Physical Therapy degree in 2013 from the University of Santo Tomas, Philippines. Her degree has an equivalent of Masters Degree in the United States. Jan has experience in outpatient orthopedics, pediatric and neurological rehabilitation and has been working at our Oswell clinic since 2015. She will be pursuing her transitional Doctorate of Physical Therapy the summer of 2016.

  • Deborah Chinn Physical Therapist

    Debbie Chinn PT, ATRIC received her BS in Physical Therapy from Loma Linda University. Debbie has extensive experience in a variety of settings including inpatient, OP, rehab, home health and aquatics primarily working with the geriatric population. She began working in aquatics 10 yrs ago and received her aquatic certification in 2007.

    Stephanie Garcia, PT, MPT received her Masters of Physical Therapy degree in 2007 from California State University, Long Beach. "I have gained experience working in several outpatient orthopedic clinics with a variety of diagnosis and impairments. I enjoy working with patients to improve their daily function to allow a return to activity whether it be return to sport, work duties or just enjoying life!"

    Erika Johnson, PT, DPT, OCS received her Bachelors of Science in health sciences and Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Central Arkansas. "I have been in practice for over 5 years now treating a variety of diagnosis ranging from orthopedics, pre-natal/post partum, gait/balance disturbances, general weakness, post-operative conditions as well a neurological disorders. I truly enjoy helping my patients regain, retain or improve their functional abilities."

    Kyle Noe, PT, DPT received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California. "I have had the opportunity to work with patients with a variety of orthopedic and neurological conditions. It is my goal to help provide them with the skills and knowledge to continue making improvements, even after their time in physical therapy."

    Justin has been a vital part of the TERRIO Team since 2001. A lifelong learner he has supplemented his license with certifications in massage, personal training, performance enhancement and Tai Chi. He enjoys helping people of all abilities regain their lost function and return to life. Using a combination of education and over 16 years of experience Justin has the rare ability to work in TERRIO's Outpatient, Aquatic and Inpatient services.

  • Joanna Piercy Director of Inpatient Services

    Joanna Piercy, PT received her Bachelors of Science in Physical Therapy degree in January, 1996 from the CSU, Long Beach. Joanna has over 10 years of experience in the Acute Rehabilitation setting, and over 19 years in the Acute Care setting. She also has experience in the Skilled Nursing area of Physical Therapy. Joanna has been a Neuro-Developmental Treatment certified physical therapist since 2001 and has also been certified by the APTA as a Credentialed Clinical Instructor for 12 years. Joanna specializes in functional rehabilitation and gait training for neurologically impaired individuals.

    I have had the opportunity to work for TERRIO Physical Therapy and Fitness for the last 7 years treating in the acute care and out-patient settings with pediatric and adult patients. While practicing I have treated various disorders and diagnoses including dysphagia, tracheostomy, apraxia, aphasia, dysarthria, traumatic brain injury, laryngectomy, fluency, voice, neurological impairments, language, phonology, and stroke. I also enjoy participating as a core member of the stroke team at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital.

    Tina Beaver, PT, DPT, received her BSPT from CSU Long Beach in 1996. She is from Bakersfield and has worked both full time and PRN in various settings, including inpatient rehab, outpatient, skilled nursing and acute hospital. She currently resides in Utah and fills in at Memorial Hospital when in CA. "I believe in treating others as I would like to be treated and look for my patient's highest potential in every situation."

    Kelly Bowling, MSPT received her Physical Therapy degree from Robert Gordoun U. in Aberdeen, Scotland. She began working in outpatient physical therapy and is now working acute care at Memorial Hospital. She was born and raised in Sacramento, CA and has made a home in Bakersfield. Kelly is currently months away from receiving her Transitional Doctorate in Physical Therapy.

    Renee Cheney, MPT received her Masters of Physical Therapy degree in 2003 from the Quinnipiac University. Renee has over 12 years of experience in the Acute Rehabilitation setting, and over 8 years in the Acute Care setting. Renee has been a Neuro-IFRAH certified physical therapist since 2004 and has also been certified by the APTA as a Credentialed Clinical Instructor for 10 years.

    Breanne Cope PT, DPT received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Azusa Pacific University in 2012. Breanne returned to Bakersfield in 2013 after completing a 6 month neuro rehab residency in Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation in Vallejo, California. "I love working with a variety of patients. Whether it is a patient post-op day 1 or someone who has suffered a cerebral vascular accident, I do all I can to help my patients regain optimal level of function. I truly love what I do."

  • Doug Danel Physical Therapist

    Doug Danel, MPT received his MSPT from Loma Linda in 2003.. He started with TERRIO in 2003 in the outpatient deparrment. In 2004, Doug joined TERRIO at Memorial Hospital to work weekends in acute. He currently works full time at Memorial for TERRIO. His favorite diagnosis to treat in outpatient was the shoulder complex. In the acute care hospital, he especially enjoys treating the total joint population.

    In 9 years of practice, I've had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings including adult acute rehabilitation,pediatric and adult outpatient, and adult/pediatric/nenonatal acute care. Currently, my focus are is the littlest of patients at Kern Medical Center and Bakersfield Memorial Hospital and I couldn't be any happier!

    Ellen Green, M.A., CCC-SLP received her Masters in Communicative Disorders: Speech-Language Pathology in 2012 from California State University, Fresno. Ellen has been working in the acute care setting and outpatient speech therapy for 3 years. Most recently, Ellen has attended continuing education courses focusing on dysphagia, strokes, traumatic brain injuries, and head and neck cancer.

  • Olivia Kerlin Occupational Therapist

    Olivia Kerlin, OTR/L received her Bachelors of Science in Occupational Therapy from Indiana University in 2004. She has over 11 years experience in acute rehabilitation and in the acute hospital setting. Olivia is NEURO-IFRAH certified and specializes in Stroke patients. "I like to address the entire patient and assist them in achieving the highest independence level possible with regard to their activities of daily living".

  • Delisa Lewis Physical Therapist

    Delisa Lewis, PT, DPT, ATC received her doctorate in Physical Therapy from Samuel Merritt University, Oakland, CA. Prior to pursing a career in physical therapy, she completed her B.S. in Athletic Training and Sports Medicine at Baylor University and became a Board Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC). Delisa has worked as a physical therapist at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital since 2012 with patients from ages 0-99 with a variety of clinical presentations and diagnoses. In addition to working in the hospital, Delisa has also spent portions of her work week in outpatient pediatrics in TERRIOKids.

    I started working for TERRIO Physical Therapy and Fitness at the beginning of June, 2015 in the acute care and outpatient settings with pediatric and adult patients.   • Zinnia Mares Physical Therapist

    Zinnia Mares, MPT received her Masters in Physical Therapy from California State University Fresno in 2005. Her experience in Physical Therapy includes acute rehabilitation, pediatrics, outpatient orthopedic and as a consultant for adults with special needs. Most recently she has worked at Memorial Hospital with a wide variety of patients from post stroke to inpatient pediatric. "When people ask me if I like being a Physical Therapist, my response is 'I love my job'. I gain so much more from those I get to interact with than I could ever give, whether it be a patient or a co-worker."

  • Danielle Moon Occupational Therapist

    Danielle Moon, OTR/L, SWC received her Master of Arts in Occupational Therapy degree in 2010 from the University of Southern California. From the beginning Danielle has had a passion for her pediatric patients and has turned that passion into a specialized skill set for feeding and swallowing with the babies in the neonatal intensive care unit at Memorial Hospital.

    Suzanne Oesch, MPT, received her BS in Physical Therapy in 1997 at Fresno State and also received her Masters in Physical Therapy from Fresno State in 1999. She has over a 16 years experience in outpatient orthopedics, acute rehab, Skilled Nursing, Pediatrics, and acute hospital setting. "I enjoy working with acute care patients and their families to assist them in reaching their prior level of function".

  • JoAnna Perez-Leon Physical Therapist

    JoAnna Perez-Leon, PT, ATC received her BS in Kinesiology at Fresno State and also received her Masters in Physical Therapy from Fresno State in 2010. She has over 5 years experience in outpatient orthopedics and now works in the acute hospital setting. JoAnna also works in the industrial health setting in the area of ergonomics for these workers. She is an ATC and has worked at Fresno State with the Volleyball and Equestrian teams. JoAnna also worked as an ATC at McLane and Clovis North High Schools while attending PT school. "I enjoy working with post surgical acute care patients and assisting them in overall 'back to life' function".

    Jenna Sakowski, PT, DPT, received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2014 from Chapman University. She began working in acute care at Memorial Hospital in November of 2014, and is completing her first year of experience. She was born and raised in Bakersfield, CA and has come back to pursue a career in acute care.

    Kalpana Singh, OTR/L received her Bachelors of Science in Occupational Therapy from NIRTAR in Cuttack, India in 1992. She has over 23 years experience in acute rehabilitation, outpatient occupational therapy, education system, skilled nursing, home health, industrial rehab and in the acute hospital setting. Kalpana is an assistive technology specialist and especially enjoys Stroke patients and treating the hand. She is working on her Certified Hand Therapist specialization. Kalpana is also working toward her Advance Practice in Swallow. Kalpana has over 15 years of managment experience as well. "I believe the best treatment approach is to show kindness to every individual".

    Ken Tolleson, PT, MPT, Neuro-IFRAH certified received his Masters of Physical Therapy degree in 2005 from California State University, Fresno. Ken has 3 years experience in outpatient orthopedics and 7 years in acute inpatient physical therapy working with a wide variety of patients from stroke to open heart surgery. Ken is an APTA Certified Clinical Instructor.

    Ruth S. Stein, LPTA received her A.S in Physical Therapy from Western Institute (WISH) in Rohnert Park, CA, 1995 and B.A. Speech Communication/ Radio & TV Production from Colorado State University, 1987. She has 25 years experience in acute care, skilled nursing, acute rehab, outpatient and home health (19 years licensed), but the hospital setting, post surgical cardiac is her favorite. In December, 2015, she will have worked for TERRIO for 9 years.

    Bonnie Whiting, PT, DPT, CSCS received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Chapman University in 2010. Bonnie has been involved in the fitness industry for over 10 years, and has been a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist since 2007. Bonnie loves helping children of all ages develop functional skills and enjoy movement.

  • Catlin Carroll Speech-Language Pathologist

    Catlin Carroll, MS, CFY-SLP graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a major in Psychology and minors in Speech and Hearing Sciences and Education. Catlin then received her Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Saint Xavier University in Chicago, Illinois. She has experience working with child and adult populations with both developmental and acquired speech and language disorders.

  • Caryn Harris Physical Therapist

    Caryn Harris, PT received her Bachelors in Physical Therapy degree in 1993 from the Ithaca College. Caryn has over 20 years of experience with inpatient neuro and out patient pediatrics. She has worked primarily with pediatric patients since 1996. She loves working with all age groups and especially helping families understand their child's diagnosis and how to incorporate activities into their daily life.

  • Wendi Wanner Director of Pediatric Therapy

    Wendi was the first OT hired by TERRIO in 2004 and was integral in starting our OT services in out-patient pediatrics, the schools and the hospital and our League of Dreams . She has a passion for pediatrics and providing high-quality, family centered services. She is currently our Director of Contracts for our community based programs.

  • Rosemarie Holliday Occupational Therapist

    Rosemarie Holliday, MS, OTR/L (MOTR/L), received her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis in 2001. Rosemarie has experience in inpatient and outpatient rehab and was a director of Therapy Services at a local hospital for 2 years before coming to TERRIO for outpatient pediatrics and eventually School OT. "I love to see the joy in children's faces when they are able to achieve activities they didn't think they could do."

  • Stacey Grisham Occupational Therapist

    Stacey Grisham, OTR/L received her Bachelors of Science in Occupational Therapy from San Jose State in 1994. She has worked at Terrio Therapy since 2004 and also has over 19 years experience in adult physical rehabilitation. Two years ago she joined the Terrio School Therapy team and loves it. "I enjoy being a part of the school team who help the students succeed in meeting their goals".

  • Maya Kirpalani Early Intervention Program Manager

    Maya Kirpalani, PT, DPT, GCS received her Masters in Physical Therapy from Fresno State in 2000. She completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in 2003. Maya came to TERRIO to work in TKIDS in 2008 and most recently has taken the role of the Early Intervention Program Manager. She also works as a school-based physical therapist since 2011, in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Memorial Hospital since 2013, and in an adult based MOVE Program since 2008.
